Life is a Journey: Live It!
This thing we call life is such an amazing blessing. Sure, tough times may come and we’ll be challenged along the way, but if we really sit down and think about the miracle of life, we can nod our head and affirm that life is quite miraculous.
Are You Truly Journeying?
Granted, life is a journey, but it’s important to ask ourselves regularly what are we doing on our journey? How do we feel the journey is going? Are we dealing with stagnation, frustration, sadness, etc.? Or are we creating some good momentum and enjoying the journey? Take a moment right now and think about your life and your journey.
- Are you happy?
- Do you feel content?
- Do you have some goals in mind that you’re going after?
- Do you feel like you have a sense of purpose?
- Are you really enjoying the journey?
Becoming Action Oriented
Life is certainly a journey, but if you’re just sitting around waiting for things to happen, you might become a bit discouraged. Each day we have the opportunity to create some momentum and enjoy each moment as it comes. It is essential that you become action-oriented when it comes to your personal and professional life, as sitting still oftentimes doesn’t get you anywhere. Yes, there is a place for resting and allowing, but there is also a place for creating and moving
If you were to ask people who state that they are truly happy on their life journey why they feel so happy, you’ll get a variety of answers. A few common answers would probably look something like this:
- “I’m happy and enjoying my journey because I feel I have passion and purpose and I’m doing what I love to do.”
- “I’m enjoying my journey because I’m grateful for all that I have and don’t have. I’m content.”
- “I’m enjoying my journey because I realize that each day is a blessing and I’m grateful to be alive.”
Try A New Path
If you haven’t been enjoying your journey or you’ve been stagnant, make a decision today to have a heart to heart with yourself. Get very honest about where you are. You might even want to discuss this with a trusted friend or mentor. Perhaps you just need to change up a few things in order to get some positive momentum going. Or maybe it’s time to try a new path in an area or two. The key is to simply open yourself up for something new and at the same time appreciate where you are at the moment.
It’s Not About The Destination
Life is journey, but it’s not necessarily about the destination. If you get caught up in thinking or worrying about the future, you’ll tend to miss out on enjoying your present journey. Yes, decide on what you want and set some goals. Create an action plan to move toward those goals, but don’t forget to enjoy your journey each day. Take some time every morning to breathe deeply and offer gratitude for where you are on your journey; for lessons learned and all the good in your life. Gratitude is a powerful force to attract more good into your life.
It is my desire that you come to accept with a grateful heart where you are on your journey, while dreaming big for your future. You have full permission to enjoy your life today, tomorrow, and every day after. You have permission to learn from your past and integrate the valuable lessons learned into your present life.
Finally, you have permission to smile and laugh. Truly embrace your journey and live life to the fullest.
After all, it’s what we came here to do!
